Setting up Google Analytics
Google Analytics allows you to track all the details of your site’s traffic. To set Analytics up with your SnapPages account, login to your SnapPages site, go to the plugins area under settings and select Google Analytics (before you do this, be sure you have set up your custom domain if you are going to have one and also submitted your site through Google Webmaster tools). Click on the link for Google Analytics and this will open a new window with a sign in or sign up for a Google Account. If you have one sign in here and if not, sign up for one. Once you are signed up or in, you will be taken to the Analytics New Account sign up. Add your URL to the URL field (DO NOT enter www in front of the URL - be sure to enter your domain here if you are using a domain vs. yourusername.snappages.com domain). Name the account, choose your time zone, etc.., then select continue. On the next page, add your name and country, continue to the next page and agree to the terms. From there, select create new account. The next page is Analytics: Tracking Instructions. Most people will choose track a single domain. Look in box 2 for the code that looks something like this: UA-xxxxxxxx-1. Copy ONLY this set of numbers and letters, and NOT the rest of the code in the box. Then, paste this code into the Google Analytics “Tracking Code” field in your SnapPages Google Analytics Plugins page (found under settings). Then choose Save at the bottom of the screen. Return to the Google Analytics page you copied the code from and choose save and finish. It can take a few days for data to begin populating your Google Analytics account.
